Top Ten Bollywood actresses 2014

 

Bollywood craze appears to have taken the entire globe in its grip with all the drama, song and dance. To entertain the Bollywood lovers we have made a list of "Top Ten Bollywood actresses of 2014". On going year 2014 has given lots of hits and blockbusters to Indian film industry. With these launches some new faces are getting overseas fame. Considering that in mind here is new list from our experts.





10. Huma Qureshi


Huma Qureshi born and raised in Delhi. Her father is a famous restaurant owner called Saleem's a chain of some 10 restaurants in Delhi. Her brother, Saqib Saleem is an actor and acted in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. In year 2011 an announcement was made that Huma would make her Bollywood debut in a movie too called Billa 2 but got delayed due to some unknown reason. However, a few months later, a new announcement came as she wasn't part of the project and she has gotten her Bollywood debut, Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur. Huma has a nice role in 2 parts of Gangs of Wasseypur. She has also done great job in Dedh Ishqia, D-Day, Eak thi daayan and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana.


 

 

9. Nergis Fakhri


Fakhri was born in Queens, New York to a Czech mother and a Pakistani father. Her parents divorced each other when she was barely six or seven years old. Fakhri is a U.S. citizen. When asked about her father's homeland, she revealed that she has never visited Pakistan. Her favourite hobbies include cooking, meditation and yoga. Fakhri appeared on America's Next Top Model Cycles 2 and 3 in 2004. She posed for the 2009 Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar. In 2011, she made her feature film debut in the Bollywood film, Rockstar, which was released on November 11, 2011 and turn out a big hit. Other films include Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Madras Cafe, Mein Tera Hero, Kick etc.


8. Prineety Chopra




Prineety Chopra is cousin of Priyanka Chopra, Meera Chopra and Barbie Handa. She has studied Hindustani classical music. Before becoming involved in the film business, Chopra studied to become an investment banker. She attended school at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in the Ambala Cantonment. She received her triple honors degree in Business, Finance, and Economics from the Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. She worked as a PR consultant in the marketing department for Yash Raj Films, before becoming in actress.
In 2011 Chopra made her screen debut in the romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, in a supporting role with Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. Shes well known for Born to Hate... Destined to Love (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), Dawat-e-Ishq(2014), Hasee tou Phasee(2014) etc.

 7. Sonakshi Sinha


She is the daughter of legendary Indian actor Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha and sister to Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha. She started her career as a model and walked the ramp in the Lakme Fashion week in 2008. She got her break in movies after being signed up by Salman Khan for his thriller Dabangg (2010) which was a block buster. Her other hit movies include Rowdy Rathore(2012), Dabangg 2(2012) , Himmatwala(2013) , Bullett Raja(2013), Holiday(2014) etc.

6. Shraddha Kapoor



Daughter of veteran Indian actor, Shakti Kapoor and bollywood singer and actress Shivangi Kapoor. Prior to making her cinematic debut, she took up theatre studies at Boston University, but dropped out after her first year to begin her acting career. She made her screen debut in the 2010 drama fictional Teen Patti for which she earned a nomination for the Filmfare Best Female Debut. The following year, she received appreciation and the Stardust Searchlight Best Actress Award for her role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End. She rose to prominence for her portrayal as Arohi Keshav Shirke in the 2013 romantic musical Aashiqui 2, which emerged as her first commercial success venture in which she gained positive acclaims and numerous nominations including the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Her other hits include Gori Tere Pyaar Mein(2013), The Villan(2014), Haider(2014) etc.
 

5. Kangana Ranaut


Kangana was born in the Hindi-speaking Ranaut family on 20 March 1987 in Bhambla, near Manali, which is in the Mandi district in the State of Himachal Pradesh, India. After completing her schooling, she attended Science College in Simla. She was enrolled in the Elite School of Modeling, and also tried some theater acting in Delhi and was a member of the Smita Theater Group under Arvind Gaur. She is also a trained Kathak dancer, and is learning to sing from Amitabh Chakraborty.
During September 2005, she was spotted drinking coffee in a cafĂ© by Film-maker Anurag Basu, who approached her, and eventually signed her up for a lead role in 'Gangster' which was released during the year 2006 and turn out a block buster. Her successful movies includes Queen(2014), Rajjo(2013), Krrish 3(2013), Tanu Weds Manu(2011), Once Upon a Time in Mumbai(2010), Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), Fashion  (2008), Dhaam Dhoom(2008), Life in a Metro(2007), Shakalaka Boom Boom (2007), Woh Lamhe(2006) etc.


4. Kareena Kapoor



Kareena was born to Sindhi-speaking Babita (nee Shivdasani) and Punjabi-speaking Randhir Kapoor in Bombay, India. She has an elder sister, Karisma a very well known Bollywood actress.
As a child she studied in Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Bombay, and thereafter was enrolled in Dehra Dun's prestigious Welham Girls' Boarding School. Then she re-located to Harvard for approximately 3 months to take a course in Information Technology and Microcomputers. Upon her return to India, she joined the Government Law College in Churchgate, Bombay, but left it after one year, to enroll in the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School.

Her film debut was in the year 2000 with 'Refugee' along with the debut of Amitabh Bachchan's son, Abhishek. She went on to appear in more then 30 other Hindi movies, and has thus far won four awards for her performances in 'Refugee', 'Chameli', 'Dev', and 'Omkara'.
She is one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood, considered bankable, with an enviable A-listing.
In 2012, she married actor Saif Ali Khan, son of actress Sharmila Tagore.
 

3. Priyanka Chopra


Priyanka was born on July 18, 1982, in the Chopra family, consisting of her dad, Dr. Ashok, and mom, Dr. Madhu, and has one younger brother. Her dad is Punjabi-speaking, while her mom is a Malayali from Bihar. As a child, she suffered from Asthma and was very close to her dad. Her family affectionately called her "Mimi".
While she was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, she also spent her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh as well as in Lucknow, where she was enrolled in the La Martiniere Girls' School. These frequent re-locations took place as Ashok was a doctor in the Indian Army. She subsequently re-located to the U.S., where she studied in Newton's Newton North High School and then in Cedar Rapid's John F. Kennedy High School in Massachusetts and Iowa, respectively.
In 2000, she returned to India and enrolled in Jai Hind College and Basant Singh Institute of Science in Churchgate, Bombay, but had to leave abruptly as she was crowned Miss India. She was subsequently crowned Miss World in the same year - a year which proved to be a year for Indian Beauty Queens - as Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza were also crowned Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific, respectively.
After completing her responsibilities as a Beauty Queen, she first appeared on the tinsel screen in India in a Tamil movie Thamizhan (2002).
She made her debut in Bollywood with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy in 2002, and then went on to act in over 28 movies, as well as lent her voice as a playback singer in Barsaat (2005). She has won more then 10 awards for her performance in Andaaz (2003), Aitraaz (2004), The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Krrish (2006), Salam-e-Ishq(2007), Fashion(2008), Anjana Anjani(2010), 7 Khoon maaf(2011), Don 2(2011), Krish 3(2013), Gunday(2014), Mary Kom(2014) etc.

2. Kathrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship. Her mother is now re-settled in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), the Capital of the state of Tamil Nadu in India.
She spent subsequent years in Hawaii, and then in London, Britain, She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelry campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.
Her first movie 'Boom' was panned by the critics and shunned by the audiences but two other Telugu movies 'Malliswari' and 'Pidugu' did get her noticed. She grossed 70 Lakh Rupees for 'Malliswari' - making her top the list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian movie debut.
She has received decent reviews for her part in "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya", as well as a brief appearance in 'Sarkar'.
Katrina had made Mumbai her base, didn't mind singing and dancing around trees and as a result is now one of the biggest mega-stars, perhaps one of the highest paid female-lead actresses in Bollywood, and a crowd-puller whenever she makes an appearance for a live song and dance number. 1. Deepika Padukone




Deepika Padukone, born 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager she played badminton in national level championships, but left her career in sport to become a fashion model. She soon received offers for film roles, and made her acting debut in 2006 as the titular character of the Kannada film Aishwarya. Padukone then played dual roles in her first Bollywood release—the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om—and won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Padukone received praise for portraying the lead female roles in the 2009 romance Love Aaj Kal and the 2010 drama Lafangey Parindey, but her performances in the 2008 romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno and the 2010 comedy Housefull met with negative reviews. She followed it with roles in a series of commercially unsuccessful films that failed to propel her career forward. The 2012 box office hit Cocktail marked a significant turning point in her career, earning her critical acclaim and Best Actress nominations at several award ceremonies. In 2013, Padukone established herself as a leading actress of Hindi cinema by playing primary roles in the comedies Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express (both of which rank among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time), and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in the tragic romance Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
