Regular Skin care for Dry Skin Type, Natural tips and tricks

Dry skin is the one in which oil producing glands are less active and produce oil less then required because of which skin become less elastic and break down.
Dry skin can easily develop a dull tone, wrinkles, and small almost invisible pores. The biggest drawback is it is very prone to aging , wrinkles, irritation and visible lines. It looks great on a young person, but, to keep it healthy, you should apply regular skin care and use natural masks and moisturizers.

Women with dry skin should carefully chose their skin products  else if dry or less moisturizing products are used with this skin it can crack, peel, or become itchy, irritated, or inflamed. If natural oil production is very low means skin is very dry, it can become rough and scaly specially skin on hands, arms, and legs looks very bad and dead. The things that aids in damaging dry skin are aging, hormonal changes especially after wedding, weather such as cold , windy or sunny, extra hot or cold water, sun rays etc so avid these at any cost.

In my earlier article i have shown regular skin care tips which are for every skin type which include four steps
  • Cleansing
  • Removing dead cells/skin
  • Toning
  • Moisturizing

Here I will include some changes best for your own skin type i.e. dry skin...

Step #1. Cleansing for dry skin:
Cleansing  is important for every skin type because no matter what you do you can't keep your skin away from dust, harmful sun rays or wind.

For improving dry skin follow steps below:
  • Cleansing for dry skin should be performed two times per day.
  • Best timing for cleansing are morning and evening. Before going to bed if u feel like your skin need cleansing you can add that in you routine.
  • Don't get long showers or bubble bath.
  • Avoid hot water... as it strip out your natural skin leaving your skin even dryer.
  • Use pleasant warm water to splash face.
  • Clean your face with a moisturizing thick or creamy cleanser specialized for your skin, avoid soap at any cost, it will break you skin.
  • Apply rich cleanser using finger tips in circular motion.
  • Massage for one minutes
  • Wash out properly
  • Dry out naturally don't use towel or tissue.
  • Take a cotton bud or soft tissue dip in rose water and apply to your face thoroughly, it will refresh your face. Regular use will give a rosy complexion and a glow to your skin.
  • Again don't use anything like towel or tissue for drying. Leave it to dry itself.
  • This will complete your cleansing process.

Step #2. Removing dead skin:
Removing dead skin also known as exfoliation process is important for keeping skin healthy and its the best way of giving younger look to your skin. Its seems artificial or harmful but its totally natural process as many people don't know our skin shred thousands of cells per minute. Manually removing dead cell only enhance that process and end up giving you a glowing look.
  • Exfoliation process for dry skin is not recommended.
  • Only perform once a week.
  • There are many ways to exfoliate skin like exfoliation soap, scrub, gloves and tools etc but for dry skin only use very soft scrub such as Clean n Clear scrub, Farmasi, Neoutrogena Scrub, Himalaya scrub.
  • Use pleasant warm water to splash face and then apply recommended scrub.
  • Rinse off your face thoroughly and move to the next step.

Step #3. Toning for Dry skin:
Rose water that I have mentioned in cleansing also work as best toner if u feel that's enough for refreshing your skin you can skip this part. Where as for giving an extra glow and protection to your face you can always get a light toner. It never gives any side effect for any skin type.
  • Apply toner right after cleansing(or exfoliation process).
  • But it can be also be applied any other time of the day as well.
  • Avoid harsh toners.
  • Lush's tea tree water, sea salt, rose and glycerine toner are best natural toner also available in market.
  • Its best to use toner  two to three times a day.
  • Apply using cotton bud or soft facial tissue for even spread.
  • Rose water, Aloevera juice and lavender water are the best toner for dry skin.
  • Again leave to dry off naturally.

Step #4. Moisturizing for Dry skin:
Of course the important step for dry skin. If skin is fully moisturized pores will not collect dust hence black heads and open pores will not be created. Drink about 8 glass of water it will helps your skin cells stay fresh and hydrated.
  • Apply two times a day followed by toner.
  • Waite for toner to dry before applying.
  • Use extra creamy and thick creams.
  • Don't go for a very expensive rich moisturizer. Just read the ingredients that may be helpful for dry skin. Best ingredients include:
    • Dimethicone and glycerin. These collect water for the skin and retain it.
    • Hyaluronic acid. Helps skin to hold water.
    • Lanolin, mineral oil, and petroleum jelly (petrolatum). These help skin hold on to water which is absorbed during bathing.
    • Ceramides. Ceramides soothe dry skin and help the skin hold water.
  • Buttermilk , rose water mist , avocado and honey are best natural moisturizer.
  • Natural oils that are good for dry skins include olive, tea tree oil.
Apply the recommended moisturizer to clean, let skin dry naturally skin and allow the skin to absorb the moisturizer.

Dry Skin care before Sleeping:

Adopt following steps before sleeping if you have dry skin.
  • Drink a glass of water.
  • Wash your face two to three times for softening your skin.
  • Use cleansing product only if your skin feels dusty or rough.
  • Dry out softly.
  • Apply recommended moisturizer.
  • You can add some drops of tea tree oil in your moisturizer, it will smooth and moisturize your dry skin.
  • Let your skin absorb it.
  • Olive oil can also be applied before and after moisturizing cream for softening your skin.
  • For extra moisturizing tap some honey through out your face, it will retain moisturizer.

Good Luck...
