Homemade facial masks for Youthful Skin

Facial mask is a mask that contains facial creams and some special nutrition for skin. It is applied to the face for providing the nourishment to the skin artificially/manually from outside, ofcourse main nourishment of skin comes from the food.The main purpose of the skin mask is that it blocks the pores hence the skin cannot take anything oxygen or air but only the nutrition provided by the mask. So it make skin to absorb what ever creams it contains. It hydrate skin making it softer. When it is removed it takes away all the dust and oil particles hence work as a good cleanser. Masks are also used for curing skin problems such as scars, acne, anti aging effects, closing pores, removing black/white heads, hyper-pigmentation etc. Many people regularly use facial mask for brightening their skin and its a quite successful method for improving skin tone.




A good facial mask should contain minerals, vitamins as well as fruit extracts. Some masks get dry after 10 to 15 minutes of application and are peeled off. Where as some stays wet and are rinsed off, both works best in their own way. There are mask that can be used regularly on daily basis as well as there are mask which are advised to be used once a month without the risk of burning the skin such as glycolic masks.
Facial masks are commonly available in the market with a wide number of variety made to suit different skin types and to meet different skin are goals such as moisturizing, cleansing, removing dead cells etc

There are many natural products such as fruits, vegetables, oil etc which can work as a perfect mask for face. In this article I will show you how to make some simple and easy mask which can work wonder for skin.

Banana Mask:

 Banana is an excellent moisturizer for skin, either you eat it or apply it over it benefits the skin both ways. It can be used as a mask which will soften your skin and will give it very fresh and clean feeling.
You will require a normal size full mature banana i.e. yellow not green. Mash it and make a soft paste. Spread the paste over you face fully can be used on neck and arms also. Leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes and even more if you have time. Rinse off with gentle cold water. Dry off softly.
Skin will feel refreshing soft and clean.


Yogurt and Banana Mask:

Yogurt and banana masks are very popular in Asian women. It requires
  • Yogurt
  • Banana and
  • Honey
Mash one medium size mature banana and make a paste. Mix 2 table spoon of honey in about 1/4 cup of plain yogurt and add in banana paste.
It will make nice creamy and easily spreadable paste. Apply it for at least 15 to 20 min or longer if you are free and rinse off properly.

Yogurt as I have mentioned in my previous article name "Natural Facial cleanser" is a best facial cleanser as well as moisturizer. It enhances the cleaning effect of scrub. Where as honey also known as Cleopatra's(most beautiful woman of history, she was famous for taking bath in milk and honey) beauty secret also work best as cleanser and moisturizer. So all in all this mask is most effective and nutritive for skin.

Milk Mask:

Milk as a natural cleanser is also commonly know in women all over the world. It clean skin as well as lock the moisturizing contents in it making it very soft.
Another very common mask is made by using dry milk. This masks require powdered milk and some water.

Take half cup of powdered milk in a bowl and add only small amount of water just enough to make a thick spreadable paste. Softly apply to you face and let it on till it gets dry. Then rinse off gently. You will feel you skin uplifted, soft, clean and glowing.

Lemon Mask:


Lemon is best known cleanser and toner. It has very good exfoliating properties. It can be used for making a useful mask which will need lemon and oil (best recommended oil are olive oil and almond oil).


Take 1/4 cup of olive oil and squeeze one lemon in to it. Apply to you face neck or arms. It will make skin softer and prittier.






Egg mask:

Egg is very nourishing for skin and work as a best mask is applied to the skin. It block the skin pores and fill it with nutritive moisturizer that it has naturally. Beat an egg in a bowl and apply to you face leave it on for as long as you can bear min 20 minutes and then rinse off.


For dry skin I will suggest only applying the yolk because that is more oily and nourishing.
Where as for oily skin apply only egg white is best equally nourishing but less oily.

If you like this next time do try the same with a little bit of lemon or honey.


Vinegar Mask:

Vinegar is a another excellent toner and cleanser for skin and is has commonly been used by women of all times.

Mix 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with same amount of water and leave for a few minutes. Apply to you fae and let it dry naturally.
You will feel you skin has been tighten and refreshed.



Olive oil Mask:

As olive oil has excellent hydrating and moisturizing qualities so it can also be used to create a facial mask that makes the skin feel soft and lithesome. You will need egg, honey and olive oil.

Take and egg and separate the yolk, mix with 1 tea spoon of honey and 2 table spoons of olive oil.
Apply the mixture to you face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
You will be amazed to see your new refreshing skin.







Oatmeal Mask:

Oatmeal contain minerals which works as an anti-inflammatory and help reduce irritation, that's why many skin products include oatmeal. You can use it to make an effective face mask.
For making this mask you will need oatmeal and honey.

Take 2 tablespoon of powdered oatmeal (process using blender). Put in 1 table spoon of honey ( or take as much honey as required to make a paste). Apply thoroughly to entire face and let it work for 10 to 20 min, remove with warm water. The honey will help keep your skin soft, smooth and radiant. This mask work best in summers, it cools skin as well as repair the harm of extended exposure in the sun.
